Case Study 2:
Workshop held and final report published
for APEC MV&E Research Study

APEC MV&E Research Study

Our company worked in partnership with another supplier (MEA), to recently publish the report: APEC International Survey of Market Compliance Mechanisms for Energy Efficiency Programs (link opposite).

The aim of the study was to survey strategies used by 18 APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) economies to monitor market compliance with energy efficiency standards and labelling programmes for consumer appliances and office equipment.

The Final Report summarises MV&E activity in each economy and provides a synthesis and comparison of the compliance and enforcement mechanisms used in the economies.

Our team conducted the research in the assignment liaising directly with the APEC representatives in Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, USA and Vietnam.

We also held an international compliance workshop: Market Compliance Mechanisms for Energy Efficiency Standards and Labeling Programmes in Beijing in June 2012. The Australian Government, APEC Expert Group on Energy Efficiency and Conservation, the China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS), CLASP and the International Copper Association (ICA) supported the workshop. Delegates included stakeholders from: energy efficiency representatives from APEC economies, industry, government officials, test laboratories, trade associations and international and national experts of compliance regimes.
